I'M GOING TRAVELLING

Hello all!

I know it's been a really long time since I last posted anything and I'm really sorry, please forgive me!
I've not forgotten but I've been very busy the past few months working, debating and just not having time for anything else.

I am very excited for the new year because after a lot of thinking, planning and worrying my boyfriend and I finally made our minds up and have decided we're going travelling for 8 months next year, from January to August!
I've never done anything like this before, I've been on holidays and lived abroad but never anything so BIG and decisive, that I've surprised myself in actually saying yes to it.

We've both quit our long term jobs, which took a lot of debating for us, for me because I'm so comfortable there and have made so many lovely friends that I'll be so sad to leave in January!
My last day is officially January the 1st.. then we'll be jobless for over 8 months which really scares me!

The plan is to go to Southeast Asia for 4-5 months and Australia for 3 months. I've never been to either of those places so I'm very excited.

I will post more about this on a later date, today is just a brief post about why I've not been posting and so you guys know I haven't given up blogging, quite the opposite, I'll be blogging A LOT while I'm away because I think it'll be really fun to let you guys know what I'm doing and sharing tips and stories. I would also love to know if that's something any of you are interested in reading?

Please feel free to ask any questions or if you have any requests on blog posts maybe a 'What's in my travel bag?'

Thank you so much for taking time to read this and I hope you enjoy what's to come!

Hoppy Easter!

Happy Easter bloggers!
Hope you're all having a great day :)

I thought I'd share a small Easter Lush haul I did yesterday when I went shopping in Oxford..

001// Hoppity Poppity bath bomb - £2.50

Smells like violet and lavender and it also contains popping candy which is eggciting!
I'll be quite sad when I have to drop this eggstremely cute, little bunny into my bath.

002// Somewhere Over The Rainbow soap - £4.25 / 100g

Not only looks amazing but smells amazing too!

003// Jason And The Argan Oil shampoo bar - £5.75

I'm so eggcited to use this!

Contains Argan Oil (which I love!) and rose absolute so it's really gentle on the scalp!
These also last a really long time and you just leave them out to dry like the bubble bars and I bought a Round Tin for the bar (in 1st photo) just so it's contained nicely :)

004// Marilyn hair treatment - £9.75

Pre-wash conditioning hair treatment, great for removing yellow/brassy tones from blonde hair, contains chamomile which lightens hair when it's in the sun and olive oil to strengthen hair.

I haven't tried it yet but the sales assistant told me this is great for conditioning dry/damaged hair and lightens dull, wintery hair so I had to give it a go.

005// Enzymion moisturiser - £14.50

Contains a whole lemon per pot!
I bought this because this doesn't leave your skin oily and I have really oily skin so this is perfect for me. It leaves a really nice matte finish and smells amazing too.

006// Bunch Of Carrots bubble bars - £5.95

I had to buy these because its easter and I was worried they wouldn't have any when I next visit!

They're bubble bars so you have to hold these under the tap with the water running as you fill your bath. If you just drop them in they won't bubble up so make sure they're under running water. The sales assistant told me a great tip which makes life easier, which is to tie the carrot onto the tap using the straw which saves your arm getting achey!
When you're done just leave them to dry and you can reuse them :)

I also bought

007// Kalamazoo beard and facial wash - £6.50

Which I unfortunately completely forgot to photograph because I gave it to my boyfriend..
Its a facial cleanser which also conditions beards and leaves it really clean and soft!
You can also use it if you haven't got a beard because its really moisturising and good for any faces but it's a great gift if you have any bearded friends, boyfriends or family members!

With jojoba oil, pineapple juice and almond oil.

Hope you all continue to have an eggstremely Hoppy Easter!

March Favourites

Hello all!

Woops! Can't believe I haven't blogged in nearly a month! I feel so bad but I've been super busy and I've lacked imagination!

I haven't shopped much this month either, I did buy some goodies at the end of February though and some of them made it to my favourites..

001// Mask Of Magnaminty by Lush - £9.75

This is my all time favourite product after trying it at the beginning of the month, you can buy the normal one which I bought or the self-preserving version which contains more honey great for sensitive skin.

It's easy to spread, although it doesn't look like it would be and you can use it anywhere on your body but I've only tried it on my face (sometimes neck).

It contains peppermint which tingles once applied which makes it feel like it's really cleansing and waking up your skin, honey which is an antiseptic great to clean out your pores, Kaolin and ground Aduki beans which exfoliate and polish your skin.

Your face feels so much cleaner and awake afterwards!

I would recommend this to anyone, especially if you've got spot prone skin like me!

002// Grease Lightning Spot Treatment by Lush - £6.40

Because I have very annoying skin and it loves to be spotty, I've always found it hard to sort them out and I get upset that my spots last for what seems like a lifetime, I went to Lush in hope to find a miracle cream to zap the spots and get rid of them asap, the sales assistant recommended this and I was willing to try anything so I got it not thinking it would do much because I've never had any luck before.

I use it every time I feel a spot coming, in the morning before applying foundation and then in the evenings once I've exfoliated my skin with my amazing mask!

The spots do not disappear straight away (obviously, although it would be fab) but if you put this on them as soon as one appears the next day it feels like its going already! And usually on the 3rd day its completely gone, which for me is super quick in comparison to by past spots :)

003// Breath Of Fresh Air Toner Water by Lush - £7.95

Okay I was a bit Lush obsessed this month, but I was super fed up with my skin so I got a bit excited on pay day.

This toner is really refreshing, I use it every morning and evening and my skin feels so nice and fresh and if I'm having a no make up day then when it feels a bit oily I spray this onto a cotton wool pad, wipe it all over my face and it feels nice and clean again :)
It also contains rose absolute which reduces redness!

004// Smokey Poppy Body Scrub by The Body Shop - £13.00

This is so good! It smells amazing, and also leaves your skin super soft.
It contains real poppy seeds which really exfoliate the skin and lift any dead skins cells.

I use it every other day or if I've been tanning then I shower with this and it scrubs all the old tan off :)

Also your shower/bath will always be super clean because you need to give it a good rinse to get rid of all the seeds! So you and your shower will be squeaky clean afterwards!

Thanks for reading, I promise I'll post more frequently :)
Now to watch Clueless in bed!

February Favourites

Hello all!

This year is going so quickly, can't believe its already the end of February :(
I have never done a monthly favourite post before but I have got a few things to rave about so thought I'd better start this month!

001// Xen-Tan Premium Sunless Tan light/medium - £24.99

Recently I've been getting fed up of having no sunshine and being so pale, I always feel a bit better with a tan and I randomly Googled 'best gradual tans' one evening and this one was on one of the websites, (click here for website).

I prefer to use gradual tan because it's what I'm used to using and I think that with gradual tan you can apply it regularly to maintain a natural colour.

It gives a great colour, moisturises well and lasts. It also smells like vanilla, my boyfriend said I smelt like our marshmallow Yankee candle haha.

I put it on in the evenings, I showered then applied a small amount all over, then washed my hands and let it dry (which is super quick!)
When you do wakeup you do smell a bit fake tanny and like that familiar digestive biscuit smell, but its okay once you've showered :)

I applied it every night for 3 nights before my birthday and then I stopped because I'd reached the perfect colour, I went to London the day after my birthday and I felt nice and tanned in freezing weather.

If you'd like me to do before and after photos then just comment below and I'll do them for you :)

I bought this on a whim, I wanted to try a new foundation because it's good to mix things up a bit, I know I'm so wild!

Its primer, concealer and foundation all in one and I like it, a lot!
It does cover my blemishes and the coverage lasts all day, perfect for work or long days out and about.
My shade was slightly too dark because they'd sold out of the paler shade but once I'd tanned it was perfect :)

I'd definitely recommend this foundation.

I got this bad boy for my birthday and I was so pleased, you've all probably read a billion blog posts about this palette but I'll just briefly say, I love it!

I mainly use Limit and Nooner on a regular basis, they're both lovely matte shades and look nice when I'm having a simple makeup day :)

And lastly

My hands have been really dry, sore and cracked all winter, I tried about 5 different hand creams that didn't really help, or they did for about 10 minutes and then my hands would get bad again.

This hand cream came free when I ordered the Liz Earle hot cloth cleanser and toner and I'm so happy I have it.
I don't use it very much but that's only because my hands are no longer dry! Yay!
They're nice and soft again :)

Liz Earle are great because all of they're products contain natural ingredients and your skin will love you for buying their product.

If you have any questions or ideas for posts you'd like me to do, please comment below!

Thank you

Hayling Island

Hello all!

If you've read my blog before you'd know I went to a place called Hayling Island last month, it's such a lovely place we had to go back and take more photos.

Last time we went I didn't really take any photos because I was so so cold! So I only snapped a couple on my phone, but this time I used a Canon 5D and braved the cold!

It was by birthday last Monday so my little brother came to visit so he came along for the trip too :)

They're all in the order I took them. So firstly we went and took lots of photos by the sea and of all the colourful huts. Of course I had a couple photos taken, my little brother took those of me..

Then we went and had a full English breakfast in the cafe again, the one with all the ginger cat photos, we love it there, haha.

Afterwards we went to the arcade and lost loads of money but it was fun and we got some candyfloss too, yum!

On the way back, just before leaving the island, it started to rain and you could see the rain coming down, so of course we had to stop before the bridge and take more photos before the trip home..

All taken with a Canon 5D / 24 - 70mm 2.8 lens

.. hope you enjoy this post, I really do.

My next post will be my first ever 'monthly favourites' so if you're not so into my photography then hopefully that'll be more your cup of tea! :)

Tattoos - What you need to know

Tattoos - Mine // Photographer - Nic Sullivan (Click here for blog)

I personally love tattoos, I think they look beautiful when they're done properly. I love the process of finding the right design, planning it and then getting it done.
But there are important things you need to remember before and after the tattoo :)

Find a reputable tattoo artist:

Nowadays there are tattoo shops everywhere. That would be great if they were all good but some of them aren't.

Don't rush things, make sure you do your research before getting a tattoo, you might be really eager and want a design you've loved for years but a tattoo is for life and if you go to the wrong place your  dream design might not turn out how you want it to.

Talk to the tattooist, find out if they know what they're doing! You can buy tattoo guns on eBay now, make sure your tattooist isn't an amateur.

Look them up, find them on social media, look at their tagged photo's. If you don't like what you see, don't go there, find someone who's art and tattoos you love.

Make sure the tattoo shop is clean (v. important). If you go in and it's not the cleanest of places, do not go! Tattoos are very easy to get wrong, a dirty needle or glove is all it takes for you to get an infection or worse.

Original design:

If you’ve found a tattoo design you love, don’t take a copy straight to your tattooist and get it exactly the same.

Make it original, ask your tattooist to redesign it, add to it so it’s more unique and individual!
Who wants a tattoo that hundreds of other people have? And it's not fair on the person who initially designed it for you to go and get it done elsewhere or fair for the person who the piece was designed for.

Also get what you want, not what others want you to have, you have to love it with all your heart. You're going to look at it everyday for the rest of your life, not them :)

Eat before you go:

I always struggled to eat before because when I'm nervous I can't face food, but I forced myself to have something, whether it's just a banana or toast, please eat.
If you don’t eat your likely to feel nauseous, light headed, you'll bleed more (sugar from food thickens the blood causing less bleeding) and generally you'll have a worse time.
And take snacks, I always take a bag of sweets, fizzy drink and sandwich.

Pain:

The pain isn’t actually that bad (for me), of course it depends on the persons pain threshold and area you're having tattooed :)
From what I heard from a lot of people is that it's the worst pain ever, it's really not.
For me it feels like little electric shocks/bee stings, except for boney bits such as elbows.. that did hurt.
But if you’re not good with pain, don’t have a massive tattoo as your first, find out how much pain you can take.
If you’re uncomfortable getting it done, fidget a lot and tense up it actually hurts more, so relaxing is the best thing you can do :) I nearly fell asleep having one of mine done and I'm a wuss!

Also fidgeting from pain will give your tattooist a tougher time tattooing you, you don’t want wobbly lines do you?

If you do need a break, tell the tattoo artist. Get some fresh air, have a drink/snack and then get comfy and carry on, your tattooist will be happy to stop, don't be embarrassed about it :)

Healing:

Make sure you keep it clean and moisturised, do not clean it with soap or shower gel. Use something mild, unscented
and antibacterial.
I personally just tried to avoid any type of soap on the tattooed skin and preferred just using lukewarm water on it's own.

Really gently rub over the tattoo using your hands, removing blood and other bits left there and then pat it dry with a paper tissue (do not rub) and then let it air dry if it's still damp. Once dry put a small amount of cream on it, not a thick layer but so it only has a slight shine to it from the cream.
I personally use Bepanthen because it's unscented and gentle but if your tattooist has recommended something different, do as they say.
There are a lot of creams out there:

etc.

Keep applying it 4-5 times a day so your tattoo doesn't dry out.

After a few days your tattoo will start to peel (completely normal) don't panic. It looks like the colour is peeling from the tattoo but it doesn't remove colour/ink at all.

When its peeling do not, I repeat do not, pick or peel!
Let it peel naturally and without your help.

It also gets really itchy during the healing process, don't scratch the itch, just pat it gently.

Avoid soaking the tattoo in baths
Avoid the sun
Avoid doing anything too physical such as working out with the body part you have tattooed
Avoid touching it too much
Avoid clingy clothes/covering it too much

If anything goes wrong, call your tattooist

Work:

Think, would your dream career allow tattoos?
If you have your career sorted and you know its acceptable to have tattoos on show, fine, but a lot of work places do not allow tattoos.
Make sure you talk to your employer first and get it in a place you can cover. I have my full arm done and I have to cover mine for work, which I don't mind but if you don't like to be fully covered in summer on a hot day think about where you want the tattoo and what your job will say :)

So just remember, think before you ink as they say!
Research, relax, eat and enjoy!

Hope you like it and sorry for people who aren't interested in tattoos

The Bloggers Tag

I have been nominated to do this by the lovely CharleesBeauty (check out her blog :) ) and it is also known as the Liebster Award. The Liebster Award is sharing of questions for bloggers with under 200 followers.

The rules are: answer 11 questions, tag 11 bloggers and ask another 11 questions.

Questions given to me:

1. What made you start your blog?
I created my blog back in 2010, I completely forgot about it until late last year. I started blogging because I don't do anything other than work, eat and sleep so I thought because I love taking photo's and spending money on beauty goodies and clothes, why not write about them?

2. Whats in your makeup bag?
  My makeup bag contains:

-Rimmel Natural Bronzer in 022 Sun Bronze
-Rimmel Stay Matte powder in 003 Peach Glow
-Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer in 010 Ivory
  -Gosh brow kit (recently reviewed)
-Bourjois bronzing powder in no. 51
-Maybelline Color Drama lip pencil in 630 Nude Perfection
-Mac Sheen Supreme lipstick in Royal Azalea
-Ghost perfume in a little 5ml travel bottle
  -Rimmel eyebrow pencil in Hazel

As you can see there's a running theme of Rimmel and also it does look like a lot but it all fits into my little makeup bag I take everywhere, just incase!

3. Dream vacation?
Very hard to decide between the two but Japan or America! Love Japanese culture and I think it would be amazing to see it in person :)

4. Relaxing holiday or Active holiday?
Relaxing I think, when you work full time, having time off to relax and do nothing is a dream. But I do think a mixture of both relaxing/active is good.

5. Favourite animal?
Very hard, I love elephants but I also love flamingos :)

6. Favourite makeup product?
I love Estee Lauder double wear foundation, I just can't afford it all the time!

7. Acrylic/Gel nails or natural?
I have acrylic nails because work always ruined my natural nails, but if your nails are healthy and strong maybe stick with them because acrylic really weakens your natural nails!

8. Favourite movie?
I think its Mermaids with Winona Ryder and Cher. It reminds me of me and my mum and it has my favourite actress, Winona!

9. One beauty product you cant live without?

Rimmel Stay Matte powder, just can't do without, the minute it runs out I go straight out and buy 2 more!

10. Favourite season?

Summer, I grew up in Spain so I miss the warm weather

11. Biggest fear?
Not being able to see all the countries in the world before its too late

I nominate:

I have linked al the products mentioned in case any of you were interested :)

Thank you for reading!

Dry hair

Hello!

About 2 years ago I had lovely long ombre hair, bleached my tips and I loved it. Then one day when I was putting more bleach into my hair I decided to bleach my whole head. Yep.

At first it was fine, still relatively healthy, but after a couple of months my hair started to get really damaged but I continued to bleach it. It started to break and I had really dry, scraggly hair.
I had it cut into a bob and had it dyed brown, then got a weave.

It was dry for a really long time and I tried everything, then I saw Moroccan Oil on Amazon and I thought I might as well try it, it was a little pricey but I just wanted my healthy hair back.
I used it after every hair wash, when my hair was damp just a little on the tips and my hair started to feel healthy again.

And then recently I bought OGX Renewing Argan Oil shampoo and conditioner, and it's amazing!
My hair is so so soft, feels and looks like it did before I ruined it with bleach.

I would 100% recommend this to anyone, whether your hair is dry or not :)

My small bottle of moroccan oil has lasted me 2 years! Definitely worth the money :)

Thanks for reading!
